In Maharashtra only one saint has received the unique honor from all class of society. His name is Saint Dynaneshwar Maharaj.Due to his most lenient towards entire world, in his scripture; he is called as “MOUILI” (i.e. Mother).
With in a short life span of 16 years Saint Dynaneshwar Maharaj wrote math physical practice commentary of Shrimad Bhagawat Geeta. This interpretation is considered outstanding among the all commentaries available on Geeta. Few Schottors says that Dynaneshwara passes the Shnakaracharya. However modest Dynaneshwar humbly says that “I am traveling by asking the path to Shankaracharya”.
Dynaneshwara and his brothers Shri NiwruthiNath, Shri Sopandeo and sister Muktabai were from Brahmin family but they were compelled to live life like classless society. This completion was made by the puritanical Brahmin of their village Allandi.
VitthalPant Kulkarni father of these saints became an ascetic. When the preceptor came to know that he is having a family and four children’s they instructed VitthalPant to go back and join the family life again. The adamant Brahmin classes were reluctant to accept him and his family in the community. Frustrated VitthalPant and his wife were having no other choice then to suicide.
After the death of his father and mother these four children’s were facing lots of problems from their own upper class of society. They were rejected to carryout their thread ceremony. When Dynaneshwar showed sheer miracles impressed the citizens of Allandi and Paithan who in-turn granted the permission to get their thread ceremony.
These four personalities are Saints of “Varkari” sect. Dynaneshwar’s guru was his own elder brother NiwruthiNath. His younger brother Sopandeo and sister Muktabai are adorable in the devotional cults of Maharashtra.
Dynaneshwar’s other most popular book are “Amrutanbhava”, (Taste of Nectar) “Haripath” (To memorize the Hari’s name). In Amrutanbhava Dynaneshwar emphasizes his philosophy of Chidvilaswad.
According to intelligentsia of Maharashtra a concept of ‘Chidvilas’ is a new one; hence Dynaneshwar has established a new philosophy. Shri Babaji Maharaj Pandit has refute this presumptions through his commentaries named ‘Amrutanubhava Kauamudi’, ‘Dynaneshwari GudharthaDipika’ and ‘Haripath Rahasya’. Babaji Maharaj Pandit reconciled the Maya-Wad and Chidvilas-Wad with most appealing logic. This was desire of Gulabrao Maharaj which was fulfilled by his disciple Babaji Maharaj.
Dynaneshwar’s ‘Abhanga’s’ (Poems) and ‘Pasaydaan’ (Requested demand); a part of Dynaneshwari are respected due to its high literature values and universal approach for the development and welfare of mankind.
A monk of Ambe Jogai named Mukundraj Swami was a philosophical parent before Dynaneshwara has also pleaded the monism of Shri Shankarachaarya. But Dynaneshwara’s feeding of said philosophy with a very soft pleasant and pleasing literature language. He is very much kind and lenient towards his listeners and readers of his books. We can see the impact of his flowering language on the maharastrian hearts from the last seven hundred years today even its freshness has not at all reduced.
Not only followers of Varkari sect but even academicians and intellectual personalities pay high regards to Saint Dynaneshwar Maharaj. Certainly we will find several miraclesdone by Dynaneshwar, while going through his Biography but common people respect him due to his outstanding literature contribution which shows the path to get spiritual truth and knowledge supreme spirit without leaving the worldly affairs.
